Quick Tip for Old Nailpolish

Looking for the Aqua Safe Straw giveaway? Click Here! Only 2 people have entered and I have 5 to give away!

http://dealcetera.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/nail_polish_blue.jpg
The other day I found a bottle of old nail polish that a friend had given me about oh...probably 5 or 6 years ago. The only thing was, was that it was a pretty nice color, and why waste a bottle of nail polish right?

So, I decided to bring the hardened nail polish to life. Yes, the polish was hard.

Quick Tip: Add a few droplets of water to the bottle of old polish, shake it up, and apply!

It sounds kind of crazy, but it worked, believe it or not!! You can try it on some old polish of yours and let me know if it worked or not, it will be interesting to see if different brands of polish react differently!

Cozy up this Valentines day

hold on loosely... by Nowordz.

Guess what?? Its almost February! Can you even believe it? It feels like it was just Christmas a few days ago!

The weather has been rather icky. Rain/Snow mixture and for the past couple of days and now today it has been snowing non stop! I must say, I can not wait for Summer time!

We all now that when February comes, Valentines day also comes rolling into our minds (and my birthday on the 17th ..wink wink).

What do you think of when you here Valentines Day?

Love is a common one for sure.
Chocolates (perfect Valentines day gift!)
Candy
Lots of Pink and Red

And how about Coziness?

A perfect Valentines Day gift would be "The Cozy." I won two cozies in a contest, one to keep and one to giveaway!

http://rockinmama.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Cozy-300x214.jpg

St. Eve makes the softest cozies that I have ever seen so far! The thing that is so great about them is that they slip over in the front and leave your back open! They have sleeves so that you can type, read, or anything else, while staying nice and toasty! I have really enjoyed using this!

This can be used for kids, teens, or adults I have found! The sleeves are a tad bit short on teens and adults, but it still works great!

So..now onto the giveaway!

You can win 1 hot pink St. Eve Cozy!

The Unorganized Lady: An HP Mini Story

The Unorganized Lady: An HP Mini Story

Once, a long long time ago, there was a young girl. Her name was Lena. She wasn't your average young girl however, she was an observer, she would see things that others overlooked. One of the many things unique about this little girl was that she wasn't afraid to point out what she saw.

This same time, there was a lady, blond hair, blue eyes, not a hair out of place, to others she looked put together, but really, inside, she was frazzled. She didn't know how to manage her time, she had a blog to keep up, products to review, a horse to train, a job to work, events to plan, family to please, and oh so much more! She liked to take pictures, but ran out of room to store them! She thought up blog posts, but had no where to keep them! She had ideas swirling around in her head, so many ideas, but by the time she finished creating one, she had forgotten the others! This lady, she was very unorganized indeed, but she had no idea of what to do to reel in her thoughts, ideas, and plans. She new that if she could figure it all out, she would have a much more simplified life and much more time to do the things she loves.

This lady started plotting, but nothing came to mind, she spent hours walking in the park looking at the nature, just hoping to come up with a good way to get organized! Oh how she wished she could! The problem was, more ideas kept spilling into her mind, but none of them had to do with simplifying her life! After a while, she sat down for a rest, and the little girl, Lena, peaked from behind a weeping willow at the lady and instantly she knew what was troubling this lady, she rushed up, sat beside her and said, "You're confused!" The lady looked at her wondering who this girl was, and how she knew exactly what was wrong. "I know! You need a way to simplify your life, and become more organized, don't you?" The lady nodded, even more mystified. Lena continued, "You know what you need? An HP Mini! It is completely portable, weighs only 2.35 pounds, and you can store your pictures, your writings, your ideas, and more on it! You will have time to do so much, and you will be so much more organized! Plus, it is earth friendly. In fact, the entire packaging is made from recycled materials!" The lady jumped up! "Thank you little girl! That is the perfect solution! The one that I have been looking for! Oh thank you!"

The Lady, Reyna, writer of Out of the Notebook and Into the Blog, figured out, thanks to Lena, that all she needed to simplify her life and become more organized, was an HP Mini.

{The End}

That is my story (I am the lady in the story), and I am entering on Mom Bloggers Club to win an HP Mini! Thank you for the amazing giveaway!

And guess what? You get a chance to enter as well! All you have to do is comment below and winners will be randomly chosen out of all of the winners!

Disclosure: I am entering this post in a contest to win a HP Mini. All opinions expressed are my own.

Aqua Safe Straw Contest + Review

After the tragedies of Haiti, I felt it was a good time to post my review and giveaway for the Aqua Safe Straw. Why?

Well, the Aqua Safe Straw is completely portable and the best part of it is that it Removes 99.9999% of Bacteria.

The Aqua Straw is a great thing to have if you live in a area that is prone to earthquakes, tornadoes, or hurricanes, when so much of the water gets to be full of bacteria and diseases. With the Aqua Straw, you can feel safer, knowing that it cleans out most of the germs. The Aqua Straw can be used in rivers, wells, streams, and even lakes!

I have to say, the straw is a little bit bulky! It is however, perfect for situations where you need clean water. Keep one in your hurricane, tornado, or earthquake safety kit, and even pack one along if you go hiking! You never know what will happen, its good to be prepared!

I was provided 5 straws to give away to YOU! Yes you! And it is so easy to be entered...

Mandatory: Tell me why you want to win the Aqua Straw!

Extra Entries (please leave a separate comment for each!):

+2: Sign up for Mylikes using this link and be sure to connect it to your Twitter account! I've had a lot of fun with Mylikes and think that you will also like it!

Disclosure: I received two Aqua Straws to review, however, this did not affect my opinions in any way.

Yoga Exercises for Teens

I have been doing yoga for a while now, and I love it! I love the satisfying feel the next morning when you wake up and know that you got a work out and you can feel it as you will be sore! Here are some great exercises for teens, or even adults, to get you started!
http://yogapostures.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/half-moon-pose.jpg

Learn how to do the Half Moon Pose, this is a very good exercise for strengthening your legs and ankles.

http://www.yogajournal.com/media/originals/fish_248.jpg

The Fish Pose is great for relieving stress in your neck and spine!

http://www.bodyharmony.ca/images/Lunge_With_A_Twist.jpg

The Cross Lunge Twist is perfect for building core strength!http://www.womansday.com/var/ezflow_site/storage/images/media/galleries-slideshows/yoga-for-beginners/plank/34359-1-eng-US/Plank_slideshow_image.jpg
If you are feeling stressed out, be sure to try the Plank pose.

http://images.teamsugar.com/files/upl1/1/12981/02_2009/79828da95dcff145_warrior2-500.jpg

If you are still feeling a bit chubby after the holidays, try the Warrior Two pose, which helps tone your tummy.

Those are all some great starter poses! I started learning yoga after I bought this book from Borders, I've said good things about it before, and I will continue to do so! It features 50 different cards, most of them yoga poses! I highly recommend it. Plus, it is specifically for teens!

One thing to not about yoga is that you should do a little warm up before you begin, it may not seem like yoga is a very vigorous sport, but believe me, you will soon find out otherwise! In the Yoga for Teens kit, there are specific yoga warm up poses that you can do, otherwise, you could also warm up using these ways:

~Few minutes of jogging
~When you are doing yoga, do the easier exercises first
~Dancing, you love it anyway, so put on some music and just have fun for a few minutes before doing yoga!

When you are doing your warm up, you will probably want a nice pair of Womens Brand shoes to keep your feet protected. And after your yoga work out when you are feeling slimmer, and more able to fit into that little black dress, you might just be feeling up to a party and want to wear a pair of Campbell shoes!

Now, I challenge YOU to go out and try yoga, come back here and let me know what you think! If you don't try it, you will never know if you like it! You might just end up taking classes, you like it so much!

Disclosure: I did receive a payment for including the links (Womens Brand shoes and Campbell shoes) in this post, however, this did not effect my opinions in any way whatsoever.

Blog Design: Wheres your Favorite?

A great Blog design is one of the ways to capture readers, keep them reading, and wanting them come back for more. There's the old saying, don't judge a book by its cover, but still, we do judge a blog by its looks, don't we? If I come across a blog and the design is terrible, or it is really dark, I will most likely not want to come back!

Here are some of my favorites:

I love looking at other great blog designs for inspiration, and was wondering, where is your favorite blog design located? I would love to take a look, so please leave a comment!

small ooh la la...eiffel tower - Vinyl Wall Decal Graphic Art Sticker Home Decor

Claire flipping through a StudioJK catalog: Fred, have the tickets to Paris bought yet?
Fred: Oh no! I completely forgot!
Claire: face turning beat red: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?
Fred: After the holiday's and everything, I was planning on buying them but....
Claire: We were supposed to leave tomorrow! I'm packed. Is it to late to buy them?
Fred: Well...
Claire: Well what?
Fred talking quickly: Well, I kind of spent our Paris money on the new deck doors. grimances
Little girl susy walks in and starts flipping through the catalog
Claire: Shees Fred! You are so irresponsible.
Susy: Wait! I think I know what to do!
Claire: Your supposed to be in bed Susy.
Susy: Its on 4:30. And look!
Susy holds up the catalog flipped to a Vinyl Eiffel Tower.
Claire: Oh Susy! What would I ever do without you?

Small - Dandelion Wishes - Vinyl Wall Decal Graphic Art Sticker Home Decor

StudioJk is a great Etsy shopped filled with unique vinyl products! The great thing is, is that they aren't just your traditional ones. There are Eiffel towers little birds, gorgeous butterflies, and more. It is a lot of fun drooling over all of them!

Cherry blossom with sparrow - Vinyl Wall Decal Graphic Art Sticker Home Decor

StudioJK was kind enough to send me an Eiffel Tower vinyl sticker. The nice thing is, is that they aren't to worrisome because you know that they will come right off if you decide later that you don't like it or want to change the look of a room. Perfect!

Extra Large Monogram - twitterpated - Vinyl Wall Decal Graphic Art Sticker Home Decor

See, my bedroom is black and purple, I made a quilt last year that is black and purple and I have purple pillows, purple walls, and black embellishments (purple and black look good together) and so the Eiffel tower that she sent me is perfect!

Here is a picture of how the Eiffel tower turned out on my wall:

I love how it turned out! It went on smoothly, and even though I lost the directions (oops!) it was easy to figure out and turned out wonderful!

Disclosure: I was sent the Eiffel Tower vinyl sticker to review for no cost, however, all opinions expressed in this post are off my own.

When your dog makes a mess.....

Yesterday, I got a pretty big package in the mail. I had no idea what it could be! It said "Scoopeeze" on the box and I had never heard of these. I actually thought that maybe I was getting a ice cream maker to review! Imagine my surprise when I found out that it wasn't an ice cream maker, but a doggy waste picker upper! I am very excited about the Scoopeeze because it is completely hand free! Buddy (Golden Retriever, 4) and I do Obedience and Agility in 4-H and so this is perfect!

In my Scoopeeze package was also some playdoh to practice with, before you actually had to use it with real doggy waste! I thought that this was very clever! It works great as well. It comes with plastic dispensers and you insert them into the scoopeeze, scoop the poop, snap the plastic dispenser on the sides together, take it out, throw it in the garbage, and your done!

I like that this is easy to use, and can be done with one hand, so you can hold onto your dogs leash while cleaning up the mess at the same time. It is also easy to use after a few practices with the play doh! Thank goodness for that! One thing that I am confused about however, is there is a little piece that did not come attached to the Scoopeeze, and it looks like there is nowhere to attach it, so I would love to figure that out! The other thing that I would change is make the liners a color to match the scoopeeze, rather than clear!

I am excited about this product and can't wait to use it more!

Update: Scoopeeze PR rep, Andy, contacted me to let me know that they will soon have the option of opaque or blue liners, rather than just the clear liners!! He also let me know that the little piece of plastic is actually used to attach it to a retractable leash. There are directions on the website on how to use this.

I received the scoopeeze and liners free to review, however, this did not affect the opinions expressed in the review in anyway.

Kitten Cold

http://pioneermindset.files.wordpress.com/2009/06/kittens.jpg

Remember Wiggles? The baby multicolored kittien that I posted about a few months ago? Right now she is curled up with me snoozing, trying to get rid of a nasty cold.

It is so worrisome to see her sleeping all day and sneezing and coughing when shes usually such a playful little girl! She usually sleeps outside at night, but she has been lucky enough to sleep in the bathroom for the past couple of nights!

I was feeling sorry for the little sweetheart so I looked up some home remedies to help kittens with colds. Its Winter and it can be easier for kittens to catch colds, so I thought I would share some of the tips with you!

-Buy some non herbal black tea and take 1/4 of a cup of water and heat it in the microwave for 2 minutes, take it out and put the tea bag in it. Add 5 ice cubes and wait until it is cold. Use cotton balls and place it on your kittens eyes, this will help with runny and sore eyes. I read that it only takes about 2 times of applying it to get eyes back to normal!

-If you cat isn't eating spread cheese around her mouth, she won't like it, but she will lick it off! Mission accomplished!

-If your cat isn't drinking, take a washcloth with water and spread it on her face, like with the cheese, she will lick it off!

-Keep them warm

I hope that these tips help! If you have anymore, please let me know!

My little idea

I am working on something, that I am excited to share with you guys hopefully soon. However, I am having a little bit of a difficult time deciding on colors! So, I decided to look at a few inspiration blogs, and here is what I have found:

Interior designs are a great place to look for color inspiration:

Kristen Hutchins Design
I found these two via Decor8 and Kristen Hutchins is the designer

355723_800_93a36c355725_800_8c3982
Being a horse lover - I think these pictures are so pretty! I really like the colors of brown + green + the blazing color of sun! And then in the second picture with the brown + blazing color of the sun + cream/white! Which one is your favorite? I found this pics via Daydream Lily and the artist is Barbara Vidal

So green, but then the pop of pink just makes the picture!! I also found this one on Daydream Lily and the photography was done by Mushroom95.

I think that this picture has a lot of color inspiration in it! Pretty as a Picnic via Daydream Lily

Gloves for Foxes

Don't you just love the cranberry/purplish colors in this picture??
The Lost Princess

Moss Garden

Green with a li'l bit of red!
The Lost Princess

And one more from The Lost Princess!

Breath

So, which inspiration is your favorite? What colors strike you the most?
