Mama Mia Wedding

One of my favorite movies is "Mama Mia." I love how sweet it is, the music, and of course - its location is Greece!

While I was watching it tonight for the second time, I realized what a gorgeous wedding that was put together. The dress is so stunning!! So, I did a little research and was designed by Ann Roth. Sadly, I also found that this dress isn't available to buy anywhere else, however, designers Claire Pettiebone and Alice Temperley both have somewhat similar dresses:

I also found this(if you click on the image, and then click on it again when it brings you to the new screen, you can zoom it in and see who it is sold from!):

Also, I'm sure that if you wanted a wedding dress even more similar to the one in Mama Mia, you could go to a talented dress designer!

I've been listening to the one Mama Mia song that comes on at the end of the song for this entire post now! Time to go upstairs before I get to sick of hearing the same song over 100 times!

What do you think of her wedding dress in Mama Mia? Would you like a Grecian Wedding?

  2. Gorgeous dress!! Love it. I don't think I'd want a Greek wedding, though. Not sure. I neeeed to watch this movie. I can't believe I never saw it! I am visiting from Friend Friday @GC. Thanks for reminding me of a chick-flick I can watch sometime soon!

    Blessings!

  3. yep, College Daughter and I loved that dress, too! She and I have seen Mama Mia on Broadway, twice at the Fox in Atlanta, opening night of the movie and bought the DVR the day it was released. "Mama Mia, ...my, my. How can I rest ya?"

I hopped over from New Friend Friday and am so happy that I did! I enjoyed the memories! Hope to see you back at my place sometime soon when you get a moment. I have become a follower and hope that you will do the same. Happy Weekend!

  7. I love the wedding dress in that movie. I love Greek-inspired dresses. I attended a wedding a few weeks ago and my designer made a fabulous Grecian inspired dress. I felt like a Greek goddess. xoxo

  10. cute post! also one of our favorite movies =) and we went to Greece for our honeymoon, so LOVED the setting! =) I have to say I hated the color of the bridesmaid dresses, I felt they were too beige, esp in a beige chapel, etc. However, I agree, the whole wedding was simply stunning!

  11. I liked the movie but the play was even better. Honestly though I was a little scared in the balcony when everyone started bouncing - I could feel the floor MOVE!!! Attractive post as usual. W.C.C.

  12. Watch Mamma Mia online free on los movies now. Good God, what were the filmmakers thinking? I have never seen the stage show on which this nightmare of a film is based, but watching this thing, I have to wonder if it's really any better, even with people who can actually sing.

The plot and characters are nonexistent, and the songs often have little to do with what little is actually going on in the story, but those are not the reasons why this film is so terrible. It's the obnoxiousness and utter lack of charm and humor. Every moment is cluttered with screeching, laughing, screaming, and terrible singing. It's enough to make a lover of musicals abandon the genre forever.

  13. Hope you had a fabulous day with dear ones. Weddings are made in heaven and celebrated on earth. Planning to hire one of the best Chicago venues for my sister's pre wedding party. Want to make all her bachelorette days memorable. Everybody surprising her with lovely cute gifts. Also will take a day out with her for movie and club fun.
