Perfect way to get rid of that school related stress....

Looking for the Seahorse Necklace giveaway? Click here!

http://www.yogabeachconference.com/Destin_Yoga_3_op_800x533.jpg

Stress is something that is common in a teens life...between school, friends, family, and everyday drama, it is something we just can't avoid. However, one way to reel that stress in and be a more relaxed, put together, person is to learn yoga. Yoga isn't just for adults, it is benefiting for teens as well!

I purchased the kit, Yoga for Teens by Mary Kaye Chryssicas at Borders and have really enjoyed learning different yoga poses. The kit comes with 50 different cards with yoga poses, instructions, and other information. It also comes with a card stand so that you can have the cards standing up while you learn the pose!

Some of my favorite poses from the book would have to be the Dancers Pose, Cow face (somewhat tricky!), the yoga push up, the Crow, and the Eagle (notice a pattern here?). One of the trickiest ones for me is the Standing forward bend, if you look at the picture on the card, it is amazing!! I can hardly touch the ground with my hands in that position rather than be so far bent down that my arms are bent!

This is the Standing forward bend, I can not do it that good yet!

I had fun trying out some of the new poses and challenging my brother to see if he could do them as well, especially the crow and eagle! Those two poses are a lot of fun!

Introducing......

You may have noticed that I have been posting a lot of DIY projects this past week. Unfortunately, they don't really go with the theme of this blog, which is tween and teen related product reviews and information, so since I love making stuff, I decided to start up a blog just for my DIY projects. So please head on over and follow the DIY blog if you are a crafty person, or just like looking!

Here is a link!

Also, don't forget to check out the DIY tutorial for an adorable pair of ruffle shoes!

Ruffle Shoe Tutorial

Be sure to enter my giveaway to win a gorgeous print from the Cori D Etsy shop! Only 10 entries so far! Click here to enter!

Ruffle Shoe Tutorial

I've been seeing these adorable ruffle shoes all over, Delias, Jcrew, and other stores. They are so cute! However, at Delias they are priced at around $44, kind of pricey for my budget. So, I decided to make my own! I used plain black shoes that had a hint of sparkle to them from Target and black with white polka dot material for the ruffle. They turned out even better than I had expected and I LOVE them! So, I will share a tutorial on how to make them for you! If you make a pair, please email me so I can see how they turned out!

Oh, and I'm sure you wouldn't do this, but please do not resell the tutorial or the shoes that you created! Thanks!

Also...

I forgot to take pictures for the tutorial after number 16, I guess I was too excited to get it done! All you do after you complete the steps below is hot glue the ruffle to the shoe, let dry, and repeat the process on the other shoe, oh, and enjoy wearing them! Don't forget to take a picture so I can see!

Enjoy

Sewn Jean Dress

I finished sewing this dress a while ago, I think about a month, actually, but here are the pictures!

It is a jean dress, it turned out very cute! The one thing that I am sad about is that it turned out sort of short, I'm thinking about adding a ruffle of sort under it so that its longer.

As you can see, I haven't put the eye hook in the back yet, so it is not closed at the tip top yet....the rest is a zipper.

Do you like how it turned out? If you would like the pattern number, let me know!

Holiday Cards

**Update!**

I have the link! Here it is!

There was a challenge on a blog for today only (sorry, I can't find the link right now, I'll update it soon though!) to make as many holiday cards as you can in 30 minutes. I suceeded in making two:

I think they turned out OK, I would have liked to have made more, but 1.I had to watch Kitten during around the first half of the 30 minutes and 2. I couldn't find the tape! :) Aww well! Also, the one with the fairy...the fairy was actually already created before the 30 minutes!

Congratulations To.....

Music on Blogs

Guitar

I was wondering what your opinion is on blogs that have playlists?

Personally, I don't like it when I click on to a blog and they have loud and annoying rock music playing that doesn't allow you to concentrate enough to even read the blog posts. However, I LOVE Dear Lizzy's blog and she has a playlist that I really enjoy listening to when I go over to her blog. Its not crazy music....you can still read her posts while letting the music play. (BTW, DearLizzy's blog has great content as well)

So, does it affect your opinion of a blog if it has music? Do you like blogs with music sometimes, never, or always?

Just Mousey

Rodent with a peanut

Living in the country, it isn't uncommon to find a mouse here and there. We have a dog and his food and water dish are up on the deck. So this morning, not to our surprise, there was another mouse in Buddy's water bucket. Drowned. *sigh* Why are we not that surprised? Well, because it seems to happen at least once every other month....not good.

When I went to see what kind of updates where on V and Co. blog, I was rather surprised that she had a mouse story of her own! Here it is!

Do you have a mouse story? I think most of us do! Link it up here!

Review: Tamara Handbags

I have purses, some really cute purses. However, I was looking at some of my purses the other day and realized that many of them were from when I was younger, 9-12 years....and a lot of them are pretty worn out from being used so much and some of them are to small, and some of them just look like a little girls purse. I found a website called Tamara Handbags. I soon realized that they have some of the most adorable purses I ever saw! They aren't to big and bulky, and they are unique and come in adorable designs! Check out this adorable Andrea tote!

Adorable isn't it? That's not the only cute purse on Tamara's website though! am loving the Andrea Hobo!

I contacted Tamara Handbags and asked if they would like to be reviewed on my blog. They kindly sent me the Black Multi color Mandy Wristlet!

The wristlet looks even better in real life than it does on their website! You can either wear it as a wristlet, like in the picture, or you can switch the clip to the other side of the purse and it will look more like a small purse! I love the size, not to small, but just big enough to hold what you need! The colors go with a lot of things, and it is just simply cute! Ive used this purse quite a few times all ready and it has held up nicely! The only thing that I am a bit disappointed is that the snap seems a little bit cheap, but other than that, I am quite satisfied!

Looking for a new purse for yourself or a great holiday gift for someone else? Head on over to Tamara Handbags!
