Yoga Exercises for Teens

I have been doing yoga for a while now, and I love it! I love the satisfying feel the next morning when you wake up and know that you got a work out and you can feel it as you will be sore! Here are some great exercises for teens, or even adults, to get you started!

Learn how to do the Half Moon Pose, this is a very good exercise for strengthening your legs and ankles.

The Fish Pose is great for relieving stress in your neck and spine!

If you are feeling stressed out, be sure to try the Plank pose.

If you are still feeling a bit chubby after the holidays, try the Warrior Two pose, which helps tone your tummy.

Those are all some great starter poses! I started learning yoga after I bought this book from Borders, I've said good things about it before, and I will continue to do so! It features 50 different cards, most of them yoga poses! I highly recommend it. Plus, it is specifically for teens!

One thing to not about yoga is that you should do a little warm up before you begin, it may not seem like yoga is a very vigorous sport, but believe me, you will soon find out otherwise! In the Yoga for Teens kit, there are specific yoga warm up poses that you can do, otherwise, you could also warm up using these ways:

~Few minutes of jogging
~When you are doing yoga, do the easier exercises first
~Dancing, you love it anyway, so put on some music and just have fun for a few minutes before doing yoga!

When you are doing your warm up, you will probably want a nice pair of Womens Brand shoes to keep your feet protected. And after your yoga work out when you are feeling slimmer, and more able to fit into that little black dress, you might just be feeling up to a party and want to wear a pair of Campbell shoes!

Now, I challenge YOU to go out and try yoga, come back here and let me know what you think! If you don't try it, you will never know if you like it! You might just end up taking classes, you like it so much!

Disclosure: I did receive a payment for including the links (Womens Brand shoes and Campbell shoes) in this post, however, this did not effect my opinions in any way whatsoever.
